The role

As a Business Development Director, you will have a unique opportunity to be a true leader of our client relationships, to shape the client work, and to manage and develop a practice with our highly-talented and internationally-minded people. You will play a key role in co-creating and participating in the future development of Genioo and driving disruption in the management consulting industry.  

The role will be based in Boston or New York.

What you should enjoy doing:

  • Proactively identifying and cultivating business opportunities, responding to customer requirements and helping craft insightful, high-quality solutions to solve complex business challenges.
  • Designing and implementing account strategies that deliver sustainable growth in new and existing clients to meaningfully contribute to expanding existing business and identifying and capturing new logos
  • Driving the execution of strategic account plans with internal teams to achieve revenue growth and profitability targets.
  • Developing and maintaining meaningful and productive client relationships at all levels to ensure that strategic recommendations and creative deliverables surpass client expectations.
  • Ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction by working closely with Client Services to ensure client concerns or escalations are addressed proactively and in service of strengthening the relationship.
  • Scaling internal functions and contributing to the development of a fast-growing organization.

What we look for:

  • You have a background in B2B sales in professional services, with experience in the life sciences services industry, and have spent 7+ years in a consultative sales role where you consistently exceeded business goals.
  • You have experience in identifying prospects, scoping client needs and winning in professional services (required).
  • You understand what goes into the sales process from prospecting to close, and you successfully manage multiple complex deals across multiple clients and stages.
  • You’re an excellent networker with a proven track record in winning new clients and keeping your relationships with them alive.
  • You have a healthy competitive nature and jump at the chance to pursue new business opportunities.
  • You have the ability to translate complex topics into simple terms and lay them out for a variety of stakeholders.
  • You have compelling communication/presentation skills and can get your message across clearly, but you are also a good conversationalist and great listener.
  • You’re a people person with strong interpersonal skills and cultural awareness, and with the ability to manage, influence and collaborate with colleagues at all levels.
  • You’re that one leader who motivates and encourages those around you to do their very best.
  • You are a strong self-starter and possess a contagious entrepreneurial spirit.
  • You love being at the cutting edge of everything you’re passionate about.

Other experience that would fuel success (a plus, not required):

  • You have experience winning and delivering projects related to Commercial, Productivity, Procurement, Tech Ops, R&D, Digital, Implementation or PMO.
  • You have experience in the management consulting industry.
  • You have experience in high growth organizations challenging traditional ways of working.
