Oliver Wyman buys SeaTec Consulting
Oliver Wyman, a global management consultancy, has agreed to acquire SeaTec Consulting, an Atlanta-based provider of technical consulting to transportation, aerospace, and defense markets.
Founded in 2000, SeaTec delivers engineering, digital, and consulting services to help clients in asset-intensive industries solve operational and technical challenges. The firm has practices in engineering services, systems engineering, operations, supply chain, safety and compliance, digital services, software development, and system integration.
SeaTec has more than 250 employees, according to LinkedIn, and has offices in Atlanta, GA; Bellevue, WA; Bloomington, IN; and Cardiff, UK.
Oliver Wyman will roll SeaTec into its Cavok division, which focuses on technical consulting and services for the global aviation, aerospace, and rail industries. The division was formed in 2007 when Oliver Wyman acquired Cavok, a Dallas-based aviation services and consulting firm.
Cavok’s capabilities and geographic reach have since been bolstered by various acquisitions, including TeamSAI in 2015 and Avisa Aviation Safety Systems in 2017. The division specializes in helping clients incorporate the latest safety standards, improve process efficiency, and streamline maintenance processes.
“This combined team will enable Oliver Wyman, CAVOK, and SeaTec to continue to make a significant impact in operations, cost, reliability, and safety for the aviation, defense, and transportation industries," said Brian Prentice, partner at Oliver Wyman.
The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2024.

The SeaTec deal follows Oliver Wyman’s 2022 acquisition of Avascent, a Washington, DC-headquartered aerospace and defense sector consulting firm with approximately 130 professionals.
Headquartered in New York, Oliver Wyman has 7,000+ professionals in more than 70 cities across 30 countries. The firm provides consulting services across strategy, operations, risk management, and organizational transformation.
