Alvarez & Marsal appoints two new managing directors in US
Alvarez & Marsal has appointed Patricia Alonso de la Fuente as a managing director in its transaction advisory group (TAG) and Jason Pizza as a managing director in its private equity performance improvement (PEPI) practice.
Based in the consulting firm’s New York headquarters, Alonso de la Fuente will support the capital markets & accounting advisory practice in the US, Spain, and its continued Latin American expansion.
She brings more than 20 years of international transactions advisory experience, with extensive experience leading cross-border and cross-functional projects in the Americas and Europe. She has advised numerous clients on global carve-outs and IPOs, and has expertise across complex accounting and reporting issues such as revenue recognition, GAAP conversion, business combinations, and implementation of new accounting standards.
Alonso de la Fuente previously spent 20 years in the deal advisory and external audit practices of KPMG, mostly recently serving as a deal advisory partner in New York. She also led KPMG’s capital markets and accounting advisory services US-Latam corridor.
Alonso de la Fuente has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Complutense’s University in Madrid and Leeds.
Based in Chicago, Pizza will work with the CFO services practice on accounting solutions. He has more than 22 years of experience focusing on transaction accounting, leading engagements across IPO readiness, carve-out financial statements, and fresh start accounting for PE firms and corporate globally.
Pizza has supported large clients in a wide range of sectors, including Ford, GM, Verizon, Publicis, and Sara Lee Corp.
He joins Alvarez & Marsal from Grant Thornton US, where he spent six years and was latterly national managing partner for accounting advisory services. Pizza was also previously a director at KPMG and a senior auditor at EY.
He has an MBA from the University of Notre Dame and a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.
