Tidal Basin hires Curt Russell as chief financial officer

Tidal Basin Group, a Utica, NY-based emergency and disaster management consulting firm, has hired Curt Russell as chief financial officer.

Based in the Washington, DC area, Russell brings over 20 years of experience in strategy, finance, operations, M&A, and government contracting.

In his new role, Russell will drive Tidal Basin’s financial strategy, optimize operations for growth, and help the firm expand into new markets.

He has extensive financial leadership experience, with expertise in overseeing multimillion-dollar budgets, managing international financial operations, and analyzing and optimizing financial performance.

Russell joins Tidal Basin from Ramboll, where he spent three-and-a-half years as head of business finance. Before that, he spent 17 years with Accenture Federal Services (AFS) and its subsidiaries. Russell’s roles included director of business operations at AFS and director of finance at subsidiary Defense Point Security.

He has an MBA and a bachelor’s degree in business administration and finance from Tennessee Technological University.

Engineering consultancy Michael Baker, a portfolio firm of DC Capital Partners, acquired Tidal Basin last year.

The firm has seven offices in the US and a location in Puerto Rico.

Tidal Basin earlier this year hired Tom Lewis as president and COO.
