Alvarez & Marsal hires Teal Reamer and Mark Sugrue

Alvarez & Marsal, a global management consulting firm, has hired Teal Reamer as a managing director in its talent organization & people (TOP) practice and Mark Sugrue as a senior director in its health system practice.

Based in Houston, Reamer has over 15 years of experience focusing on culture and change, organizational operating models, executive team effectiveness, and strategy alignment. She has extensive experience working on complex engagements with energy sector clients, include Fortune 50 oil and gas firms, independent exploration and production firms, and Fortune 500 engineering and construction firms.

Reamer joins Alvarez & Marsal from consulting firm BTS, where she spent 10 years and latterly served as SVP, partner, and head of BTS Central. She also previously spent two years with Boston Consulting Group, where she was a client development manager in the energy practice.

Earlier in her career, Reamer was an operations associate at DKR Capital.

She has an MBA from New York University and a bachelor’s degree from Middlebury College.

Based in Boston, Sugrue brings 30+ years of healthcare experience, including extensive consulting experience in operations, IT, revenue cycle, and performance improvement.

He has worked on complex initiatives in patient contact center optimization, new facility M&A projects, emergency department throughput, care model redesign, and enterprise-wide performance improvement.

Sugrue joins Alvarez & Marsal from FTI Consulting, where he spent two-and-a-half years as managing director and co-leader of the digital health offering. Prior to that, he spent two years as managing director for clinical delivery and informatics solutions at Commonwealth Medicine, two-and-a-half years as chief nursing informatics officer (CNIO) and associate chief nursing officer of the professional practice at UMass Memorial Medical Center, and three years as CNIO of Lahey Hospital & Medical Center.

Earlier in his career, Sugrue was a director in PwC’s health industry advisory practice and a senior manager at BearingPoint.

He has a master’s degree in nursing leadership and a bachelor’s degree in nursing science from Regis College, as well as a bachelor’s degree in biology and psychology from the University of Massachusetts, Boston.
