Accenture Federal Services names Ron Ash as CEO
Accenture Federal Services (AFS), the US federal consulting subsidiary of Accenture, has appointed Ron Ash as chief executive officer and chair of the AFS board of managers, effective September 1, 2024.
Ash succeeds John Goodman, who will step down as CEO and chair of the AFS board of managers on August 31, 2024, and retire on March 31, 2025.
Goodman has served as CEO since 2017, doubling the company to 15,500 employees and leading AFS to rise four spots to No. 9 on the Washington Technology Top 100 federal industry list. He has been at Accenture for the last 25 years and previously served as chief operating officer of AFS.
“Over his incredible career, John has contributed enormously to the growth and success of Accenture Federal Services,” said Julie Sweet, chair and CEO of Accenture.
In his new role, Ash will oversee AFS as it supports US federal agencies in adopting new technologies, such as generative AI.
He joined Accenture in 1996, initially focusing on supply chain transformations for government and commercial clients. Ash joined AFS in 2002, where he held roles including public safety portfolio lead and strategy & consulting growth platform lead. Since 2022, he has served as COO.
Ash has a degree in business administration management information systems and finance from Ohio University.
“I wholeheartedly support the Accenture Federal Board’s decision to select Ron as the next CEO,” Sweet said. “He brings both broad and deep experience across the government and commercial worlds, technology, and strategy, and a strong, proven commitment to creating value for clients, people and communities. I look forward to working with Ron in his new role and bringing the best of Accenture to help the US federal government.”
Ash added, “Our people are the heart of everything we do, and I’m thrilled to lead such an exceptional team. I look forward to shaping the future of the federal government together and making a lasting impact on the missions we serve.”
