Jarrard Inc., a strategic communications consultancy focusing on the healthcare industry, has launched a new healthtech practice led by newly hired SVP Alex Hunter.

Based in Jarrard’s Nashville headquarters, Hunter brings more than 25 years of experience in public relations at agencies and technology companies. He most recently co-founded The Bulleit Group, where he managed public relations and comms strategies for companies including Google, Microsoft, and Cruise (GM).

Before that, Hunter was a VP at Cutline Communications and held senior comms roles at Hewlett-Packard and Edelman.

“The addition of a Health Technology Practice to Jarrard's existing provider practice groups is an electrifying opportunity for the firm to expand its impact in the broader healthcare landscape. And there's no one more qualified than Alex Hunter to lead this new practice," said Anne Hancock Toomey, co-founder and president of Jarrard.

As leader of the new healthtech practice, Hunter will oversee a team of PR and comms professionals supporting healthcare information technology (HCIT) companies, digital health companies, and investors on challenges in navigating the regulatory environment and communicating to various stakeholders.

The practice will help clients create stakeholder engagement campaigns and engaging content on various platforms, as well as implement digital marketing strategies.

“Our mission with the new practice is to help health tech companies navigate the complex communications landscape, amplify their brand presence and drive meaningful engagement with their target audiences," Hunter said.

The US digital health market is projected to grow from $50 billion in 2024 to approximately $70 billion in 2028.

Jarrard is part of healthcare advisory firm Chartis, which acquired it in 2020. Chartis has over 1,000 employees across offices in Chicago, Boston, New York, and San Francisco providing services in strategy and M&A, care delivery transformation, financing transformation, communications, and clinical quality solutions.
