Roland Berger promotes Alexander Baumgartner and Benjamin Lowe to partner
Roland Berger, a Munich-headquartered management consultancy, has appointed two new partners in its Chicago office: Alexander Baumgartner and Benjamin Lowe.
Baumgartner is part of the firm’s chemical practice. He has been at Roland Berger for the last decade, focusing on strategy and M&A engagements with clients across the chemical value chain.
Baumgartner has expertise supporting investors and producers with developing strategies, evaluating investments, and reshaping portfolios. He has also worked on sustainability engagements in areas such as green hydrogen/ammonia and reducing plastic waste.
Baumgartner has a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Emory University.
Lowe is a member of Roland Berger’s energy and sustainability practice. He has 15 years of experience in energy and utilities, with expertise across alternative regulatory models, supply chain, wholesale power markets, energy efficiency, testimony, and stakeholder and media relations.
Lowe joined Roland Berger in 2019 as a project manager. Before that, he was a manager at energy consultancy Enovation Partners, a director for policy and market development and energy provider Alevo, and an analytics manager at Duke Energy Corporation.
Lowe has an MBA from Northwestern University and a bachelor’s degree in economics from Columbia University.
“[Baumgartner and Lowe’s] promotions are the logical consequence of our growth and success in the chemicals and energy industries that they respectively serve,” said Stephan Keese, managing partner for North America at Roland Berger. “This important milestone proves all the hard work they continuously dedicate to our clients, and their outstanding contributions to our team. Thank you both, and once again congratulations from the whole team!”
Roland Berger is celebrating its 25th year of business in North America, having expanded into the US market in the late 1990s with a Detroit office. The German consultancy, which has depth of expertise in automotive and manufacturing, today has seven offices across the US, Canada, and Mexico.
“Together we represent one of the fastest growing regions in the Roland Berger network,” Keese added. “I look forward to continuing this successful growth path and with Alex and Ben we are even better positioned for the future.”
Founded in 1967, Roland Berger has more than 3,000 employees across 50+ offices globally. The firm provides consulting services in operations, performance and restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, sales and marketing, and digital.
