BRG welcomes new directors John Boyer and Ben Sheppard
Berkeley Research Group (BRG), an Emeryville, CA-headquartered management consultancy, has hired John Boyer and Ben Sheppard as directors in its Miami and Los Angeles offices, respectively.
Boyer brings nearly 40 years of experience in building environmental systems to the firm’s global construction practice.
He has extensive experience in litigation support and engineering expert witness services, forensic engineering, property loss investigations, architectural engineering, and mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) engineering, among other areas.
Boyer previously held engineering and architectural leadership positions at several organizations, including serving as an architectural engineer at Engineering Expert Witness and as principal and MEP leader at Thornton Tomasetti.
He has a bachelor’s degree in architectural engineering from Penn State University.

Sheppard joins the forensic accounting and investigations practice, where he will work with entertainment and media clients on advisory engagements in litigation support, valuation, and forensic investigations.
He has over 30 years of experience at global accounting and consulting firms, as well as within the accounting and financial operations departments of large media and entertainment companies.
Sheppard was most recently a managing director at GHJ, a director at AlixPartners, a VP at Charles River Associates, and a director at PwC. He also previously held accounting and audit roles at Warner Home Video, MGM, and The Walt Disney Company.
Sheppard has an MBA and a bachelor’s degree in management information systems from the University of Houston.
