Capstone Integrated Solutions, a private equity-backed, retail sector IT consulting firm, has acquired Retail Process Engineering (RPE), a Tampa, FL-based supply chain IT consulting firm.

Founded in 1999, RPE helps retailers and wholesalers to leverage supply chain software to improve sales, profitability, and customer experience. The firm has practices in strategic IT planning, process improvement, project management, package selection, systems implementation, integration, and upgrades.

RPE has more than 45 employees, according to LinkedIn.

"RPE has decades of experience within supply chain systems such as merchandising, planning, allocation, assortment, and replenishment working with best-in-class retail and wholesale customers on their complex system needs," said Rob Henneke, president of RPE. "The new partnership with Capstone will provide both RPE and Capstone the opportunity to cross-sell our collective IT services into a growing base of customers."

Capstone is a portfolio company of Conanicut Capital, which acquired it in 2022. Conanicut, a Needham, MA-based lower-middle market PE firm focusing on business services, plans to continue making growth investments to bolster Capstone.

“Our original thesis for the platform was to find growing, specialist (channel and sector) IT services firms, like Capstone and RPE, that through cross-platform relationships could be much more relevant to their customers' digital challenges," said Jared Paquette, managing partner, Conanicut Capital. "It starts and ends with the expert-level specialists.”

Conanicut plans to deepen the platform’s IT capabilities across implementation, development, consulting, and managed services.

Capstone is headquartered in Walden, NY and has 35 employees listed on LinkedIn. The firm provides retail clients with services in software development, system analysis, integration, implementation, and support.
