ACA Group adds Michele Foldenauer as managing director

ACA Group, a governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) consultancy focusing on the financial services industry, has hired Michele Foldenauer as a managing director and co-leader of the mock examination team.

Based in Miami, Foldenauer will help lead and grow a practice offering proprietary tech-enabled mock regulatory examinations and compliance program reviews.

She brings more than 20 years of experience in the securities industry, with deep expertise in regulatory compliance and private funds.

Foldenauer joins ACA Group from risk and compliance consultancy Optima Partners, where she spent seven months as a director. Before that, she spent eight years at the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), where she was a senior securities examiner and an exam manager in the private funds unit.

Earlier in her career, Foldenauer spent four years at the Florida Office of Financial Regulation, where she was a financial control analyst.

She also previously was an attorney and financial analyst at Boze Capital and an assistant vice president at The Bank of New York.

Foldenauer has a juris doctor from Florida State University.

ACA is the GRC consulting platform of Genstar Capital, which acquired and merged the New York-based company with Foreside in 2021. ACA has more than 1,280 employees across seven offices in the US, UK, Malta, and India advising financial services clients on compliance, AML and finance crimes, ESG, cybersecurity, Brexit implementation, and distribution.

The consultancy earlier this summer acquired Encore Compliance, a New York-based compliance software firm.
