Crowell & Moring, a Washington, DC-based law firm, has launched Crowell GovCon Strategies, a government contracting strategy consulting firm.

The new consultancy will provide integrated business and legal solutions to guide companies through the strategy, pursuit, and execution of federal procurements. It includes former US government contracting officers, government contracts attorneys, and business analytics.

Crowell GovCon Strategies will also collaborate with attorneys from Crowell & Moring’s government contracts group, which represents major defense, aerospace, and technology contractors.

“Crowell GovCon Strategies provides our clients with an integrated approach that combines comprehensive business advice with sophisticated legal counsel to identify opportunities, win new procurements, perform in compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements, and plan for the future of their business," said Steve McBrady, a partner in Crowell's government contracts group.

The consultancy will support government contractors of all sizes across the defense, aerospace, energy, IT, and transportation industries.

Crowell GovCon Strategies’ offerings include procurement opportunity identification, market research, proposal development, M&A, public policy, compliance, cybersecurity requirements, IP rights, international trade, and terminations.

The consulting firm will be led by president Kate Robb, a contracting officer in defense acquisition who has overseen more than $30 billion in contract awards over nearly two decades. She was previously a principal at federal consultancy Deep Water Point & Associates, a contracting officer at Naval Information Warfare Systems Command, and a supervisory contracting officer at Naval Seas Systems Command.

Robb has a master’s degree in public policy and a bachelor’s degree in economics from The George Washington University.

"We're launching Crowell GovCon Strategies at a time when government contractors need more than just guidance—they need a strategic edge and the confidence to make informed decisions and take calculated risks in a rapidly evolving government landscape," said Robb. "I'm thrilled to lead Crowell GovCon Strategies, which is a unique offering in the marketplace that provides a 360-degree view to helping contractors succeed."

Crowell & Moring has more than 600 employees across offices in the US, Europe, MEAN, and Asia. The firm provides services in litigation and arbitration, regulatory and policy, and corporate and transactional issues.

Crowell in 2022 launched healthcare consulting affiliate Crowell Health Solutions. The law firm last year rebranded its government relations and public affairs consultancy – Crowell & Moring International – to Crowell Global Advisors.
