Trinity Consultants, a Dallas-headquartered environmental consulting firm, has acquired Zanjero, a Sacramento, CA-based engineering and water planning consulting firm.

Founded in 2022, Zanjero advises on the legal, technical, economic, and political aspects of water issues and planning. The firm has offerings that address water planning, political dynamics, financial impacts, regulatory and legal mandates, and technical challenges.

Zanjero works with clients across California and the Western US on water rights, climate adaptation, water resources planning, renewable power, hydropower licensing and compliance, asset management, program management, and international development.

The firm has a team of 14 people, according to its website.

Zanjero will operate as a business unit within Trinity’s water and ecology division and will retain its leadership team of Jim Crowley, Greg Young, and Gwyn-Mohr Tully.

"This partnership allows us to build on our successes and collectively expand our geographic footprint, provide greater opportunities for career advancement, and better serve our people, clients and communities in North America and beyond," Crowley said.

Zanjero joins a water and ecology team strengthened by the prior acquisition of  WestLand Engineering and Environmental Services, Soundview Consultants, Ecofish Research, Minnow Environmental, AWN Consulting, Vision Environment, and ECOSA.

"Given its specialized expertise in providing strategic water resource planning services to cities, counties and water service providers throughout California and the Western US, Zanjero enables us to deliver a more extensive suite of solutions to better meet our clients' growing needs," said Mike Remsberg, divisional president of water and ecology at Trinity.

Founded in 1974, Trinity has over 1,800 professionals globally delivering EHS, engineering, and scientific-focused consulting, technology, training, and staffing services to clients in the industrial, energy, manufacturing, mining, life sciences, and commercial/institutional sectors.

The firm is a portfolio company of Oak Hill Partners, which acquired it in 2021.
