Mercer's Cindy Gentry chosen as a 2018 Woman Leader in Consulting
Mercer Senior Partner and Client Manager Cindy Gentry was among those honored in this year’s edition of Consulting magazine’s Women Leaders in Consulting, being chosen in the category of Excellence in Client Service. The annual award recognizes the top female executives that have made a significant impact in the consulting industry.
Based in Mercer’s San Francisco office, Gentry has racked up more than 30 years of consulting experience in the areas of client-focused human resources and process improvement. In almost 17 years with Mercer, Gentry has led numerous international retirement and benefits projects, working with large multinational healthcare and tech companies. She has further experience in the areas of executive compensation, HR transformation, investment consulting, talent management, and mergers & acquisitions, among others.
Before joining Mercer, Gentry was President of healthcare consulting firm eHealth Concepts for two years. Prior to that, she spent seven years as a Vice President in the Labor & Trust division of health insurance company Health Net, and six years as a Director of Sales at Blue Shield of California. Gentry started her career as a consultant in the healthcare practice of KPMG. She holds a Master’s in Public Health from the University of California, Berkeley.In addition to being honored as one of Consulting magazine’s 2018 Women Leaders in Consulting, Gentry was previously named one of Diversity Journal’s Women Worth Watching. Gentry has also served as lead advisor on Mercer’s research on gender diversity in the workplace – ‘When Women Thrive.’

Other consultants honored in the Client Service category at this year’s awards include: Jodi Bednar, Director, West Monroe Partners; Jessica Jarvis, Principal, ZS; and Pam McDonald, Principal, Impact Advisors. Meanwhile, BCG’s Chief Financial Officer, Debbie Simpson, will be recognized with a Lifetime Achievement award.
The awards for the 2018 Women Leaders in Consulting will be given out at the 12th annual gala awards dinner at The Palace in New York City on November 8th.
