EY promotes Jerry Ward to head of Long Island office
EY US has promoted Jerry Ward to office managing partner for Long Island, New York.
Ward, who has been with EY since 2003, succeeds Cathy Verrelli, who is moving to a new role at the Big Four firm.
In his new position, Ward will oversee a team of more than 250 professionals.
“Jerry’s extensive knowledge and inclusive leadership style will bring significant value to this role,” Verrelli said. “I am fully confident that he will enhance the firm’s presence on Long Island and the metro New York community and help empower our clients to excel in this competitive environment.”
Ward previously served as assurance leader for Long Island. Prior to joining EY, he was a supervisor at Margolin, Winer & Evens LLP.
He has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Dowling College.
“EY has a rich legacy on Long Island, and I’m honored to build upon Cathy’s accomplishments,” Ward said. “Our Long Island team is made up of talented and ambitious professionals, and I look forward to working together to strengthen our presence in the market and serve the business community.”
EY earlier this year appointed Christy Baumann as head of its San Antonio office.
The Big Four accountancy is the third-largest CPA firm in the US, with annual revenue of $24.1 billion, according to Inside Public Accounting.
