John Hudson joins J.S. Held’s IP practice as senior managing director
John Hudson has joined Ocean Tomo, the IP consulting practice of J.S. Held, as a senior managing director.
Based in Atlanta, Hudson brings more than 25 years of experience in IP strategy, valuation, and commercialization. He has advised a diverse range of clients – including Fortune 500s, universities, law firms, private equity firms, and government agencies – on IP issues including licensing, litigation, transactions, and audit and recovery.
Hudson previously spent four years with FTI Consulting as a senior managing director. Before that, he a managing director in Deloitte’s corporate finance practice, a director in Navigant’s disputes and economics group, and a director in Houlihan Lokey’s tech and IP group.
He began his career in the intellectual property services practice of Peterson Consulting.
Hudson has a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Florida.

J.S. Held in 2022 acquired Ocean Tomo, a Chicago-based IP consulting firm with approximately 80 employees.
