Human resources consultancy Buck has appointed Steve Coco as their Chief Solutions Officer. The seasoned consulting professional and nine-year veteran of the firm will lead the company in strategic initiatives related to client-centric innovation. He will continue to be based in Buck’s NYC headquarters.

In May, Conduent sold its HR Services divisions in the US, Canada, and the UK to H.I.G Capital. The consultancy has returned to a shorter variation of its long-standing name (Buck Consultants), rebranding as Buck earlier this year. The business had $278 million in revenues in 2017, and 1,500 employees in 2016.

In August, the firm brought in former YP/Print Media CEO Jack Freker to serve as its new CEO as it embarks on a growth path within the HR consulting sphere. Speaking at the time of his appointment, Freker said, “Buck is uniquely positioned amongst its competitors as a nimble, agile, and client-centric provider for customised solutions to drive positive health, wealth and career outcomes for employees."

Now, the consulting firm has now promoted Steve Coco to the position of Chief Solutions Officer, wherein he will guide Buck’s strategic consulting solutions and technology strategies. Heading the Solutions business, Coco will oversee the development of new offerings for clients, the creation of client innovation and tech roadmaps, and the establishment of new strategic partnerships.Buck appoints Steve Coco as Chief Solutions OfficerPreviously, Coco was head of the consulting business at Conduent HR Services, and prior to that, at Buck Consultants at Xerox before it was spun off as Conduent in 2017. During his nine years at the firm he helped lead a team of over a thousand professionals in the HR consulting sphere. Coco also helped manage the business through a successful divestiture.

Before working at Buck, Coco held consulting and executive management roles at management consultancy Intellilink (2006-2011) and at software firm Dextrys (2000-2007). He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Bates College.

"We've charged Steve with one thing and that is ensuring our clients get the best, most creative solutions — before they have to ask," commented Freker. "Steve's forward-looking thinking, deep industry knowledge, and customer-first approach with Buck will be instrumental in delivering near-term wins for our clients."

Commenting on his appointment, Coco said, "As Chief Solutions Officer, I'm excited to steer our clients into the future with the most advanced HR and benefits solutions out there. We are investing more in our clients, aligning our plans with theirs, and growing with them to prepare them for today and the future.”

“With a large and loyal client base to build on, a tremendous investment in emerging technology, and a new level of support from our financial partner, H.I.G. Capital, our opportunities are unlimited," he concluded.
