Trinity hires Scott Evangelista as CEO

Trinity Life Sciences, a Boston-based life sciences consulting firm, has hired Scott Evangelista as chief executive officer.

Evangelista succeeds Leslie Orne, who is stepping down after three years as CEO. Orne, who has been with Trinity for 24 years, will continue at the firm as a senior advisor and member of the board.

Trinity, which has approximately 1,300 employees across 14 global offices, received a minority investment from Bain & Company in 2022. Trinity is majority owned by Kohlberg & Company, which acquired the consultancy in 2021.

Evangelista has served on Trinity’s board since January 2023. A seasoned pharmaceutical industry executive and consulting leader, Evangelista has more than 30 years of strategic leadership and operational expertise.

He previously served as executive chairman and CEO of Cairn Therapeutics, president and COO of Ironshore Pharmaceuticals, and president of integrated health services at IQVIA.

Prior to his tenure as an executive in the pharma industry, Evangelista was a principal in Deloitte’s life sciences sector, managing partner and founder of Swiftwater Group, and an associate partner at Andersen Consulting.

He has a master’s degree in management information systems and a bachelor’s degree in finance from Boston University.

“Scott is a proven leader who knows how to drive transformational growth in companies while preserving and leveraging what makes them exceptional: their people, their expertise, and a deep commitment to excellence,” said Matt Jennings, executive chairman of Trinity and operating partner of Kohlberg. “Through his leadership on the board of advisors, he’s demonstrated that he is ideally suited to lead Trinity into its next chapter of growth.”

Founded in 1996, Trinity’s consulting offerings include corporate strategy, product planning and forecasting, portfolio strategy, and business development support. The firm also offers an array of market intelligence, research, and benchmarking services, as well as proprietary technology products for data and analytics.

“I look forward to building on Trinity’s strong foundation by accelerating innovation, investing in data and technology, and advancing value for patients, clients and employees. I cannot think of an organization better suited to help life sciences companies navigate a dynamic and complex market and I am excited for what’s ahead,” Evangelista said.
