Jeff Powers and Joe Anastasio join TORI's NYC office
Two former Capco partners – Jeff Powers and Joe Anastasio – have joined financial services consulting firm TORI.
Operating in a similar space to rival Capco, London-based TORI Global provides management consulting to mostly financial services clients. Founded in 2002, the company delivers services ranging from strategy & operations to digital transformation, risk & compliance, organizational design, and leadership development. In addition to its London headquarters, the consultancy has offices in New York (launched in 2015), Singapore, and Bangalore.
Now, the company has added two consulting and financial services experts in the form of Jeff Powers and Joe Anastasio. Both are former partners at Capco, and both join TORI as managing partners in the NYC office. Anastasio will head up client relationship development in the Capital Markets, Banking, and Wealth Managment segments in North America, while Powers will lead business development and management of TORI’s global financial institutions clients – with a focus on strategic transformations.
Anastasio boasts over 40 years’ experience in financial services. Before joining TORI, he spent 19 years as Executive Partner at Capco, where he was responsible for launching and building the North America business. Anastasio oversaw the region’s growth from a handful of experts to over a thousand consultants and hundreds of millions in revenue. Before Capco, he was a Managing Director of Operations at JP Morgan for 7 years, managing the firm’s global operations and compliance/control functions. Before that, Anastasio was at investment bank Salomon Brothers for 22 years, serving as a Senior Managing Partner and leading over 1,300 professionals in the firm’s global ops and support technology groups. He also spent 20 years as a member and chairman of SIA (SIFMA), leading industry efforts to reduce operations risks and facilitate post-trade process improvements.
Drawing on his vast experience, Anastasio will help clients utilize cutting-edge solutions that leverage risk management and cost reductions, among other factors, to weather the sea changes coming to the financial services market.
Jeff Powers, meanwhile, has over 25 years of experience in enterprise sales, sales management, and global account management in support of transformations at financial institutions. Before joining TORI, Powers was SVP at FITS Consulting, where he was responsible for sales & marketing for middle and back-office platform conversion and integration solutions. Prior to that, Powers was a Partner at Capco for eight years, leading Northeast sales.
Before Capco, he spent over 11 years as a Global Client Solutions Director at EMC Consulting, focusing on transformation solutions. While there, he led a global team responsible for client solutions in application development, customer experience, disaster recovery, and managed services, among other areas.
Powers also held key management positions related to the first dark pool of liquidity for listed, OTC, and Osaka stock exchanges, as well as the leading market data distribution platform for the major trading floors on Wall Street – working at Optimark, Bridge Information Systems, and ILX over that time. He started his career as a Support Engineer at IBM Global Services, spending 9 years transforming market data platforms.
"We are delighted to announce that Jeff Powers and Joe Anastasio have joined the TORI New York team," said a release on TORI's website. "Both bring a wealth of financial services and consulting experience – especially their extensive operational industry insight."
