CrossCountry Consulting expands into Southern California with CNM acquisition

CrossCountry Consulting, a McLean, VA-based management consulting firm, has acquired CNM LLP, a Los Angeles-based technical advisory firm.

CNM was founded in 2003 and provides services in accounting and transaction advisory, compliance and risk advisory, and IT advisory. The firm works with clients including startups, mid-market companies, and Fortune 500s.

CNM has more than 200 people across offices in Los Angeles, San Diego, Orange County, and New York. The firm also has an international location in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The acquisition will expand CrossCountry’s physical presence into Southern California and will add new offices in Los Angeles and Kuala Lumpur. The transaction will also deepen CrossCountry’s capabilities for the office of the CFO.

“This acquisition is a pivotal step in our growth strategy, significantly expanding our ability to support clients in the Southern California market and enhancing our core solutions for the Office of the CFO,” said Erik Linn, co-founder and managing partner of CrossCountry Consulting. “With teams and offices stretching from coast to coast, we’re especially pleased to join forces with an organization whose values and collaborative culture so closely align with ours.”

Sanjay Sheth, managing partner of CNM, will join CrossCountry as Los Angeles managing partner and Southern California market leader.

“By combining our specialized expertise with CrossCountry’s extensive capabilities and resources, we can deliver even greater value and address more complex challenges for the organizations we serve,” said Nathan Matthews, founder and executive chair of CNM.

CrossCountry was founded in 2011 and has over 1,300 global employees, according to LinkedIn. The firm provides corporate and private equity clients with services in accounting advisory, business transformation, corporate transactions, risk and compliance, technology, cybersecurity, and data and analytics.

The firm now has eight offices across the US and international locations in Canada, Ireland, the UK, South Africa, the Philippines, and Malaysia.

CrossCountry earlier this year acquired CDS, a San Francisco-based provider of financial due diligence services for mergers and acquisitions.
