HKA adds Jorge Berrios as principal and LoLo Adigwe as director
HKA, a risk and disputes consulting firm, has hired Jorge Berrios as a principal in its forensic engineering, architectural, and scientific practice and LoLo Adigwe as director in its construction, claims, and expert services practice.
Based in Miami, Berrios brings more than 15 years of engineering experience, with expertise across electrical power systems, forensic engineering, and complex loss investigations in the energy and industrial sectors.
He specializes in failure analysis of electrical power systems, including electrical fires, explosions, short circuits, arc flash incidents, and other electrical phenomena.
Berrios has led investigations across the Americas, Europe, and Asia, and has served as an expert witness on cases involving industrial facilities, energy assets, and large-scale property losses.
He joins HKA from Halliwell – a forensic architecture, and construction professional services firm – where he spent seven years and was a director in the electrical engineering practice. Before that, he was a senior electrical engineer at ProCon Engineering.
Berrios has a master’s degree in electrical engineering from Florida International University and a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Rafael Urdaneta University in Venezuela, and is a licensed professional engineer.
“We are excited to welcome Jorge to HKA. His deep technical expertise in electrical failure analysis, renewable energy systems, and large-scale investigative work will greatly benefit our clients as they face increasingly complex challenges in the energy and industrial sectors,” said Michael Griffin, partner, head of forensic technical services, Americas.
Based in San Jose, Adigwe has over 18 years of experience delivering renewable energy and infrastructure projects across North America. She has expertise across the project lifecycle of wind, solar, battery energy storage, and distributed energy programs – from planning and procurement to construction and operational transition.
Adigwe’s engineering and technical focus includes constructability reviews, multidisciplinary design integration, and execution readiness assessments. She also has regulatory expertise across safety requirements, compliance standards, and governing processes when working with municipal, utility, and industry stakeholders.
Adigwe joins HKA from Bloom Energy, where she was director of EPC programs. Before that, she was senior manager for project development at Liberty and EDF Renewables and section manager for turbine generator refurbishment of Ontario Power Generation’s Darlington nuclear plant.
Earlier in her career, she held project manager roles with SSE and Petroineos Manufacturing in the UK.
Adigwe has a master’s degree in applied instrumentation and control from Glasgow Caledonian University in the UK and a bachelor’s degree in electrical and electronics engineering from the University of Port Harcourt in Nigeria. She is a project management professional and a licensed professional engineer in Canada. Adigwe is also currently completing a doctor of engineering degree at George Washington University.
“We are thrilled to welcome LoLo to HKA,” said Caryn Fuller, partner. “LoLo’s background uniquely positions her to support clients facing the increasingly complex challenges of today’s evolving energy sector. As the industry accelerates toward decarbonization, grid modernization, and storage innovation, her experience, insight, and leadership will be invaluable.”
HKA recently hired Rey Machado as a Miami-based director in its forensic accounting and investigations practices.
