Sikich, a Chicago-based accounting and consulting firm, has acquired Jefferson Wells, a Milwaukee-based professional services firm, from talent solutions giant ManpowerGroup.

The transaction will add more than 300 US-based employees to Sikich. The deal, which is valued at $100 million, closed on April 30.

Jefferson Wells provides project consulting, integrated resourcing, and executive search services in the areas of risk and compliance, finance and accounting, and tax. The consultancy works with clients in a range of industries, including public and highly regulated companies.

Jefferson Wells posted $76 million in US revenues in 2025.

The deal will add a client roster across financial services, technology, and energy – complementing Sikich’s existing presence in healthcare, life sciences, and manufacturing and distribution.

“This acquisition enhances existing capabilities across our business, including deep expertise in risk and compliance, finance and accounting, and tax, making Jefferson Wells an ideal fit as we continue to scale,” said Christopher Geier, chairman and CEO of Sikich.

The deal is Sikich’s second transaction of the year, following its April acquisition of Burwood Group, a Chicago-based IT consulting and integration firm. Sikich, which remains privately held, received a $250-million minority investment from Bain Capital in 2024.

“We are delighted to see Jefferson Wells US join Sikich, where there is strong alignment in capabilities, culture, and growth ambition,” said Ger Doyle, North America region president, ManpowerGroup. “As we move forward, we are energized to focus on our core business and continue delivering value for our clients and candidates across North America.”

Sikich has approximately 2,000 people across 19 offices in the US and India. It is the 25th-largest CPA firm in the US, according to Inside Public Accounting, with annual revenue of $438.9 million.
