FS Vector hires Alex Monié as principal in government relations
FS Vector, a Washington, DC-based fintech consulting firm, has hired Alex Monié as a principal in its government relations practice.
In his new role in FS Vector’s headquarters, Monié will advise clients on legislative and regulatory developments in tax, economic policy, and financial services.
He brings more than a decade of experience in policy, regulatory, and government affairs. Monié most recently spent a year with the US Department of the Treasury, where he was a senior advisor in the office of legislative affairs. Before that, he spent over three years with the National Association of Manufacturers, where he was senior director of tax policy.
Earlier in his career, Monié was a policy advisor at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP and a professional staff member in the US Senate finance subcommittee on taxation and IRS oversight.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and public administration from Mississippi State University.
“[Alex Monié’s] work across Congress, the Treasury, and the private sector gives him a practical understanding of how policy decisions are made and how organizations can engage effectively,” said Andy Barbour, managing partner at FS Vector. “His expertise will be a strong asset as we continue building our government relations team and expand into tax policy advisory.”
FS Vector was founded in 2018 and has more than 60 employees listed on its website. The boutique firm provides advisory services, operational delivery, government relations, and policy expertise to fintechs, banks, law firms, and regtech providers.
“FS Vector works with clients that operate in areas where policy, regulation, and business strategy are deeply connected,” Monié said. “I am excited to join a team that understands those intersections and helps clients collaborate with Washington in a thoughtful, effective way across the firm’s government relations and tax policy capabilities.”
