ACA Group appoints Trey Loughran as chief executive officer

ACA Group, a governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) consultancy focusing on the financial services industry, has appointed Trey Loughran as chief executive officer and member of the board of directors.

Loughran succeeds Patrick Olson, who served as CEO since May 2023. He will transition to the role of vice chairman.

Based in the firm’s New York headquarters, Loughran is an executive with 30+ years of experience across financial services, data and analytics, and tech-enabled services.

He joins ACA from financial services platform Purchasing Power, where he spent six years as CEO and oversaw its sale to PROG Holdings. Before that, Loughran spent 12 years with Equifax – serving as chief marketing officer, president of US information solutions, and president of personal information solutions. During his tenure at the consumer credit reporting agency, he oversaw areas including P&L management, M&A execution, new product innovation, and go-to-market strategy.

Earlier in his career, Loughran was an engagement manager at McKinsey & Company and an attorney at King and Spalding.

He has a juris doctor from Harvard University and a bachelor’s degree in political science and economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

“ACA has built an extraordinary position as a leading GRC provider to the financial services industry, serving more than 6,000 clients globally,” said Ben Bridgeman, chairman of the board of ACA Group. “The Board is confident that Trey’s combination of deep financial services expertise, commercial instinct, and people-first leadership will help ACA translate that market position into accelerated growth. We are excited about the opportunity ahead.”

ACA is the GRC consulting platform of Genstar Capital, which acquired and merged the New York-based company with Foreside in 2021. ACA has 1,400 employees across 10 offices in the US, UK, UAE, and India advising financial services clients on compliance, AML and finance crimes, ESG, cybersecurity, investment performance, and distribution.

“I look forward to driving the next phase of ACA’s growth alongside our talented team and to delivering even greater value to our clients,” Loughran said.
