Armanino names Anthony Sciarra as head of tax practice
Armanino, a San Ramon, CA-based accounting and consulting firm, has appointed Anthony Sciarra as partner-in-charge of its national tax practice.
Based in New York, Sciarra brings more than 20 years of tax leadership experience, with expertise in tax strategy, organizational transformation, and client service.
In his new role at Armanino, he will oversee a practice with 800+ professionals across 30 offices delivering tax services to mid-market, high-growth, and enterprise clients.
"We’re at an important moment for Armanino’s Tax practice, and Anthony is the right leader for where we’re going,” said Matt Armanino, CEO of Armanino Advisory LLC. “He has led large-scale organizations through meaningful transformation, and he brings a people-first approach that fits our culture. We’re excited to have him join our leadership team.”
Sciarra joins from PwC, where he spent eight years and was a partner and growth catalyst leader for the tax operating model. He also previously served as lead tax partner for the banking, insurance, and professional services sector.
Before that, Sciarra spent two years at reinsurance firm Enstar Group, where he was group head of finance, operations, and tax, and five years at AIG, where he was a senior tax director. He began his career as a tax attorney at Baker McKenzie.
Sciarra has a juris doctor from Albany Law School.
“Armanino has built something distinctive: a firm that combines deep technical expertise with an entrepreneurial spirit and a genuine commitment to clients,” said Sciarra. “I’m looking forward to building on that foundation and working with the talented teams here to drive what’s next.”
Armanino in October 2024 received a minority investment from Further Global Capital Management.
The firm has approximately 2,500 people across 30 offices in the US, Canada, and India.
