Baker Tilly to acquire Anchin, move headquarters to New York City
Baker Tilly US, a national mid-market accounting and consulting firm, has agreed to acquire Anchin, Block & Anchin, a New York-headquartered accounting and consulting firm.
Following on the transaction, which is slated to close this summer, Baker Tilly will move its headquarters from Chicago to New York City. The firm in a press release said the move reflects the growing importance of the market to its business strategy and client base.
Anchin was founded in 1923 and has 600 professionals across offices in New York, South Floria, and India. The full-service firm provides accounting, tax, and advisory services to privately held companies, investment funds, and high-net-worth individuals and families.
“New York is one of the most important markets for our clients and for the future of our firm,” said Eric Miles, CEO of Baker Tilly. “Anchin strengthens our presence in a market that is central to many of the industries, entrepreneurs and businesses we serve. Establishing New York as our headquarters reflects our long-term commitment to this market and our continued investment in the talent, expertise and capabilities our clients need to succeed.”
Roger Shinsky, managing partner of Anchin, will join Baker Tilly as New York managing principal.
“We believe this combination allows us to build on what has made Anchin successful while creating new opportunities for our clients and team members,” Shinsky said.
Baker Tilly was in 2024 acquired by private equity firms Hellman & Friedman (H&F) and Valeas Capital Partners. In 2025, Baker Tilly merged with Moss Adams in a deal valued at $7 billion. Jeff Ferro, Baker Tilly’s then-CEO, said the combined firm would be aiming for an eventual IPO.
Baker Tilly has more than 11,500 people across the US and annual revenue of $3.36 billion, according to Inside Public Accounting.
