Certinia expands PSA platform with acquisition of Moonnox

Certinia has acquired Moonnox, a technology vendor to the professional services sector. The deal will see Certinia expand its platform with AI-native service delivery capabilities.

Headquartered in San Jose, California, Certinia is a global provider of professional services automation (PSA) services, unifying sales, project delivery, finance, and customer management in a single platform. Its software that helps professional services firms – including PwC and Spaulding Ridge – manage internal operations and client projects from start to finish.

Certina is backed by Haveli Investments, Salesforce Ventures, TA Associates, and General Atlantic – and this platform has enabled it to pursue acquisitions to strengthen its hand further. The latest sees the firm purchase Moonnox, a Chicago-based software company, for an undisclosed sum.

Moonnox is a system that supports the services side of project-based businesses, including administration, project management, and document management. Its automation and suite of AI agents enable firms to free up delivery teams to focus on higher-value work.

“Professional services firms are at a critical inflection point. They must leverage AI to transform productivity, but that only works if teams can trust the output without manual rework,” said DJ Paoni, chief executive officer of Certinia.

“Acquiring Moonnox empowers services teams with the exact context they need, right when they need it. With compounding AI that captures organizational intelligence and improves with every project, we are giving our customers the definitive edge to win today and the foundation to lead tomorrow.”

Moonnox brings more than 17 years of services domain expertise to the equation – adding real-time native context capture across apps like Salesforce, G-Suite, Microsoft 365, Jira, Confluence, and Zoom.

“Services firms are sitting on billions of dollars in unclaimed value tied up in the manual work across winning a deal and delivering it,” said Robert Ong, co-founder and CEO of Moonnox. “What excites me most is the combination: Moonnox’s ability to capture what happens in the room, paired with Certinia’s system of record and Agentic capabilities for services operations, closes a gap neither of us could close alone.”

Ong continued, “Together, we give services firms the foundation to capture that value, deliver with confidence, and evolve their operating models for the future.”
