K2 Integrity, a New York-based risk and compliance advisory firm, has hired Michael Kallabat as global head of investigations and disputes.
Kallabat brings nearly two decades of experience advising organizations on fraud risk program design, third-party anti-bribery and anti-corruption screening, and crisis and business continuity planning.
He has worked on engagements in the energy, finance, infrastructure, retail, and transportation sectors across the US, EMEA, and Asia-Pacific.
Kallabat joins K2 from Ankura, where he spent two years as managing director and head of the Saudia Arabia practice. Before that, he was a senior director in Alvarez & Marsal’s infrastructure and capital projects practice in Washington, DC. Earlier in his career he spent a decade at Control Risks, where he was a principal in the Chicago office.
Kallabat began his career at Deloitte.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in finance and international business from Georgetown University.
“We are delighted to bring on board a leader of Michael’s extensive qualifications and experience to assist our clients with their most pressing risk management needs,” Aaron Karczmer, K2’s CEO, said. “His addition to K2 reflects our commitment to provide clients with a unique combination of the best in human intelligence and the most advanced AI-enabled systems to address the challenges of a rapidly evolving and increasingly complex risk landscape.”
Founded in 2009, K2 has practices in strategic advisory, financial crimes risk management, investigations and disputes, cyber risk management, crypto and digital asset solutions, national security, and internal audit services. The firm has more than 400 employees listed on LinkedIn and 11 offices worldwide.
“I’m thrilled to be joining K2 at such a pivotal moment in its evolution, as the company continues to expand its services and capabilities for clients through the recent acquisitions of Leviathan and RiskFront AI,” Kallabat said. “I’m excited to contribute to K2’s journey as it embraces change, technology, and AI to build for the future.”
