Catalant hires Tye Howell as managing partner of private equity
Catalant, an on-demand consulting platform and marketplace, has hired Tye Howell as managing partner of private equity.
In the newly created role, Howell will scale the company’s private equity (PE) business, which works with three-quarters of the top 100 PE firms by AUM.
“As a former operating partner and portfolio company board member, Tye has been in our clients’ seat, from diligence to value creation, so he knows firsthand what operating partners need: deep expertise, deployed fast, focused on driving real change,” said Pat Petitti, co-founder and CEO of Catalant.
Howell brings more than 15 years of PE and consulting industry experience, with expertise across nearly every stage of the PE value creation lifecycle. He previously spent a year-and-a-half as an operating partner at Rubicon Technology Partners and five years as an operating partner at Blue Point Capital Partners. Howell served as de-facto CIO for 40 portfolio firms and advised on due diligence and numerous successful exits.
Before that, he spent eight years with Accenture, where he was a senior manager working on digital transformation engagements.
Howell has an MBA and BA from the University of Washington.
“Firms and portfolio companies don’t just need expertise, they need it deployed fast against the specific value creation plan they’re executing, but flexible enough to scale up or down as that work evolves, whether that’s one expert or a full team,” Howell said. “It’s exactly the caliber of work I want to help more operating partners and portfolio company leaders access.”
Calatant’s PE practice provides clients with support for sales and marketing, operations, strategy and finance, digital and AI, and organization and people.
