SLR hires Beau Schilz as head of water advisory, Americas
SLR, a UK-headquartered environmental and sustainability consulting firm, has hired Beau Schilz as head of water advisory for the Americas.
Based in Seattle, Schilz brings nearly 20 years of experience in water resource management, infrastructure planning, and environmental stewardship. He has deep expertise planning and developing water infrastructure for data centers and advancing water efficiency and reuse initiatives.
Schilz joins SLR Consulting from Amazon Web Services, where he spent the last 13 years and most recently served as principal for water technology and strategic partnerships. Before that, he served as global water resources manager and global water projects manager.
Before his tenure at AWS, Schilz was a project planner at Pace Engineers.
He has a master’s degree in urban and environmental policy and planning from Tufts University and a bachelor’s degree in economics from Santa Clara University.
“For the first time, we’re seeing communities take active positions on data center development in their backyards, with growing scrutiny on how water, energy, and other resources are managed,” said Patrick Keaney, SLR executive director, Americas. “Bringing in Beau, a recognized and experienced leader in water infrastructure and technology, alongside SLR’s existing talent, strengthens our ability to help clients earn and maintain the social license needed to operate responsibly while meeting growing demand.”
SLR says it has expertise across water, environmental services, permitting, and engineering to help clients in AI and cloud infrastructure navigate evolving regulatory requirements and community expectations.
The Buckinghamshire, UK-headquartered company has 5,000 people across 135+ offices in the Americas, EMEA, and Asia-Pacific regions.
