BPM names Brian Finnegan chief operating officer

BPM, a San Francisco-based accounting and consulting firm, has appointed Brian Finnegan as chief operating officer.

Based in the firm’s headquarters, Finnegan succeeds Carl Sorboro, who is retiring at the end of the year.

As COO, Finnegan will oversee the 1,300-person firm’s operations, business processes, and strategic execution. He has been with BPM since 2002, most recently serving as leader of the assurance practice.

Before joining BPM, Finnegan worked in the financial services and audit department of Arthur Andersen.

He has a bachelor’s degree in managerial economics from UC Davis and is a certified public accountant.

“Brian is a trusted leader with deep operational insight and a strong commitment to BPM’s values," said Nick Steiner, who was recently named CEO of BPM. "His ability to bring people together, elevate quality, and drive strategic execution makes him the right person to step into this role.”

BPM is the 32nd-largest accounting and consulting firm in the United States, according to Inside Public Accounting, with annual revenue of $69 million.

“I’m committed to strengthening our operational foundation, supporting our colleagues’ development, and ensuring we deliver exceptional experiences for our clients and our people,” Finnegan said.
