Baker Tilly adds Jennifer Schwalm as partner in healthcare practice
Accounting and consulting firm Baker Tilly Virchow Krause has hired Jennifer Schwalm as a partner in its healthcare practice, where she will serve as senior services sector leader. She has more than 25 years of experience in healthcare and senior services business advisory.
The US healthcare practice of Chicago-based Baker Tilly supports hospitals, senior services providers, and specialty service providers with strategic and financial planning, market research, and risk readiness.
As sector leader, Schwalm will work on senior services client strategy, operations, mergers, partnerships, market positioning, and performance improvement.
Schwalm was previously chief mission development officer of retirement community Masonic Villages of the Grand Lodge of Pennsylvania (MV of PA). There, she developed and implemented strategic growth initiatives while supporting the company’s core mission.
She also served for six years as president of Ashlar Creative Solutions, LLC, a subsidiary of MV of PA, which provides strategic, operational, and management advisory to senior services providers. As president, Schwalm helped clients build business solutions while leveraging the skills of the MV of PA team.
“We are thrilled that Jennifer will be joining Baker Tilly’s healthcare practice,” Mark Ross, a partner and national healthcare practice leader of the firm, said. “Her vast industry experience will help our clients confront the challenges of today and develop strategies for the future.”
“I could not be more excited to be joining Baker Tilly. Working closely with healthcare firm leader Mark Ross and the Baker Tilly healthcare team, we will focus on providing high quality and value added accounting and consulting services to organizations in the senior services sector," Schwalm added.
Baker Tilly US recently acquired two public sector municipal advisory firms: Indianapolis-based H.J. Umbaugh and Associates and St. Paul-based Springsted Incorporated.
