Charles River Associates adds forensic expert Kenneth Mathieu
Economic, financial, and management consultancy Charles River Associates (CRA) has appointed Kenneth Mathieu as a vice president in its forensic services practice. Mathieu brings over 20 years of advisory and accounting experience to the role.
Based out of Chicago, Mathieu will provide forensic accounting, litigation consulting, and valuation services to CRA’s private and public sector clients.
Over his more than two-decade career, Mathieu has conducted numerous investigations into accounting irregularities, corruption, and management conduct. He also has extensive experience quantifying damages in M&A-related disputes.

Mathieu has served as an expert witness or consulting expert in cases pertaining to GAAP, valuation, and damages, and his analyses have been presented to the SEC, DoJ, and law enforcement agencies. He has co-authored multiple book chapters, published journal articles, and spoken at numerous events on the topic of forensic accounting. Mathieu is currently a commissioner on the National Accreditation Committee, which leads the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants’ (AICPA) accreditation process.
Previously, he spent five years as a managing director at PwC, where he led the dispute resolution practice in the Mid-Central region. Before joining PwC, Mathieu spent nine years at FTI Consulting, leaving the firm as a managing director. He started his career at Arthur Andersen, where he spent seven years.
Mathieu holds an MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University, as well as a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Loyola University. He is a certified public accountant, certified in financial forensics, and accredited in business valuation by the AICPA.
