CNM appoints three new managing directors

Technical advisory firm CNM has strengthened its capabilities with the addition of three new managing directors: E.J. Hilbert, Jeffrey Weiss, and Mike Culver.

Founded in 2003, CNM delivers consulting services in the areas of accounting and transaction advisory, compliance and risk, and IT audit and advisory. The firm’s more than 80 partners and professionals have extensive expertise across US GAAP, ICFR, and SEC reporting, supporting clients through complex transactions and standards implementations. CNM has offices in Los Angeles and Orange County.

E.J. Hilbert has joined the firm as a managing director in the cyber resiliency practice, bringing over two decades of experience in cybersecurity and privacy. Hilbert’s expertise extends across forensics and investigations, risk analysis and mitigation, and compliance; he has advised Fortune 100 firms and governments across the globe.

Hilbert started his cybersecurity career in the FBI, where he was cyber and counterterrorism special agent, working on a number of cybercrime, white collar, and counterterrorism investigations. He then went on to serve as a director of security enforcement at MySpace.com, a managing director of cyber investigations (EMEA) at Kroll, and a director in the cybersecurity and privacy practice at PwC. Hilbert most recently served as CEO at Path Network, a network traffic and site uptime monitoring startup.

CNM appoints three new managing directors

Jeffrey Weiss joins CNM as a managing director in the compliance and risk advisory practice in the Orange Country office. Weiss brings over 12 years of experience in internal audit, Sarbanes-Oxley, and ongoing compliance consulting across a wide range of industries.

Weiss spent the breadth of career at consulting firm Protiviti, joining the consultancy in 2006 as a manager and working his way up to director level. He is a certified internal auditor.

Mike Culver is now a managing director in the IT audit and advisory practice in Los Angeles. He has extensive consulting experience in the areas of IT management, financial and operational risk management, and cybersecurity.

Culver spent the last 15 years at Deloitte, where he was most recently a specialist leader in the advisory & enterprise risk services practice. At Deloitte, Culver was responsible for managing and executing controls assessments in cybersecurity, finance, operations, and technology.
