DCI Consulting Group appoints Jon Geier as principal consultant
HR risk management consulting firm DCI Consulting Group has hired retired attorney Jon Geier as a principal consultant. Geier is a former partner at international law firm Paul Hastings LLP. He has more than 30 years of experience advising companies and other employers on workforce issues.
"Jon brings a unique perspective to the team. His vast experience working with employers pairs well with our quantitative approach,” David Cohen, DCI Consulting president, said. “By leveraging Jon, one of the best in the industry, we further our goal of providing the highest quality consulting for our clients."
While he will not be providing legal advice or acting as an attorney for or on behalf of DCI Consulting, Geier will utilize his knowledge and experience as a consultant, focusing on pay equity, diversity and inclusion metrics development, and related best practices.
Diversity is an exceedingly hot topic in the business world of late, as numerous studies have revealed its extraordinary financial benefit. A recent study from Boston Consulting Group, for example, showed a strong correlation between diverse leadership and financial and innovative performance. Another study from Oliver Wyman revealed gender diversity can improve private equity and venture capital returns. Gender-balanced leadership teams in the industry showed a median excess internal rate of return of 1.7%, compared to 0.1% for all-male teams.
"I am thrilled to be joining DCI and to be able to continue to work with employers," Geier said. “[I want to continue ensuring that employees are not hindered by barriers to their entry or advancement in the workforce, and that employees doing similar work are compensated in a manner commensurate with their individual attributes.”
DCI Consulting Group is based in Washington, DC. It provides consulting and HR services in areas including pay equity, affirmative action plan development and implementations, employee selection and test validation, and regulatory affairs and government relations.
The firm in February acquired Colorado-based employment litigation and HR boutique consultancy Savina Consulting, which supported plaintiffs and defendants in state and federal cases related to age, race, and gender discrimination. The acquired firm also focused on Equal Pay Act and Fair Labor Standards Act cases, and HR consulting services aimed at avoiding discrimination litigation and reducing adverse impact and liability.
