ECG Management Consultants adds Michael Mullins as principal
Healthcare consultancy ECG Management Consultants has hired Michael Mullins as a principal in its mergers, acquisitions, and partnerships practice. The seasoned consultant will also serve as head of financial sponsors coverage.
Atlanta-based ECG is a national consulting firm with a specialized focus on healthcare providers, delivering advisory offerings in strategy, operations, finance, and technology. The firm supports hospitals, health systems, medical groups, and academic medical groups across the country, having worked with premier providers such as Johns Hopkins Health System, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Cleveland Clinic, and Massachusetts General Hospital.
ECG has 10 offices across the United States, and has been supporting healthcare providers for more than four decades.
The consulting firm has bolstered its mergers, acquisitions, and partnerships practice with the addition of Michael Mullins, who brings over 18 years of healthcare and transaction advisory experience. His primary focus throughout his career has been transaction advisory services for M&A, alliances, and strategic investments. Mullins has advised clients in a diverse range of healthcare areas, including physician groups, post-acute services, managed care, technology, and outsourced services.
In addition to serving as a principal in the M&A practice, Mullins will also lead and coordinate coverage of healthcare-focused private equity sponsors for ECG. He will be based out of the firm's Atlanta headquarters.
"The addition of Michael is exciting because of his track record of success at a national scale and at all levels of the M&A life cycle,” Hector Torres, mergers, acquisitions, and partnerships practice leader, said. “Michael's specialized experience and knowledge of the healthcare market allows us to provide even greater value and expertise to our clients who seek highly differentiated M&A advisory services.”
Mullins previously spent five years as a senior vice president in the healthcare group of investment bank Houlihan Lokey. Before that, he was an associate director in healthcare strategy at consulting firm Navigant for nearly four years. Mullins began his career at Deloitte, where he spent over eight years and rose to the position of senior manager. He holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from Clark Atlanta University.
"With a team of world-class healthcare experts and a focus on long-term client relationships, ECG is extraordinarily well-positioned to continue delivering optimal results to healthcare-focused organizations," Mullins said.
