Miles Everson joins MBO Partners as chief executive officer
Miles Everson, the former global advisory and consulting leader at PwC, has joined MBO Partners, a leading online platform for professionals and the future of work. Everson replaces MBO founder Gene Zaino, who moves on to the role of executive chairman.
With more professionals taking on work as independent contractors – either for higher wages, better work-life balance, or to be their own boss – independent professional matching platforms are picking up steam. With a wave of automation set to reshape how organizations work – with even more independent and project-based contractors – these platforms are likely to become a deal more important in the future.
One related platform company is MBO Partners, which bills itself as the “largest and most experienced provider of independent workforce solutions.” The company’s workforce ecosystem supports both businesses and independents, strengthening relationships while minimizing risk and maximizing value for clients.
The company’s tech platform handles billing, contract administration, insurance, benefits, and other areas for independent professionals, while offering direct vendor access into enterprises. For businesses, MBO delivers a comprehensive contractor aggregation and engagement offering, including payment and compliance solutions.
MBO has brought in a notable figure from the consulting world to act as its CEO, effective immediately. Miles Everson is a key leader out of Big Four firm PwC, where he spent more than 30 years and most recently served as US vice chairman and global advisory and consulting leader.
Everson also served as executive sponsor and strategized the PwC Talent Exchange, an initiative to help PwC Advisory better access independent professionals and support an enhanced delivery model for the advisory business.
Everson held a number of key leadership roles in the advisory and consulting arm of PwC during his long tenure, including Asia Pacific Americas advisory leader, US financial services advisory leader, and global risk consulting leader. He started his career in the assurance practice, before moving on to risk advisory.
Everson has worked with many of the largest multi-national businesses, and led over 60,000 professionals across 150 countries.
“I could not find a more accomplished, qualified, and trusted person to take on this role and bring our company to new levels,” Zaino said. “Miles and I share a common vision, and with his leadership we will realize the full potential of our company as the essential platform supporting how independent professionals and businesses make work happen.”
Everson commented, “I am privileged and honored to lead a company that is the definitive market leader in enabling the future of work and improving the well-being of professionals and businesses throughout the world.”
MBO is headquartered in Herndon, Virginia, and has further offices in Edmond, Oklahoma; London, UK; and Dublin and Cork, Ireland. Founded in 1996, the company has approximately 200 employees.
