Oliver Wyman partners on cybersecurity offering with Next Peak
Global management consultancy Oliver Wyman has announced a collaboration with Next Peak, an operational cyber defence consultancy.
The collaboration will specifically enable Oliver Wyman to extend its specialized in-depth expertise across cyber risk, security architecture, security operation, and cyber resilience – with unique approaches to operational capacity building, attack analysis, and regulatory cyber risks.
With 5,000 consultants across 29 countries, Oliver Wyman is one of the world’s largest management consulting firms. The Marsh & McLennan–owned company has offerings across strategy, operations, corporate finance, organizational effectiveness, and digital, among other areas.
“At a time when cyber threats are becoming increasingly common, more dangerous, and more sophisticated, leaders across all industries are looking for ways to protect their companies,” said Michael Zeltkevic, partner and head of Americas at Oliver Wyman. “Oliver Wyman and Next Peak together can now help deepen front-line defenses for clients – bringing together the strategy, diagnostic, and design strengths of Oliver Wyman with the operational, technical, and specialized cyber capabilities of Next Peak.”
Next Peak was founded earlier this year by Greg Rattray and Jim Cummings, two longtime veterans of the cybersecurity segment. The New York and San Antonio-based firm delivers consulting services in cyber defense assessment and strategy, cyber capacity building, cyber analytics, and cyber evaluation.
Rattray was a previously the chief information security officer and leader of the global cyber partnership team at JP Morgan Chase. Before that he was founder and CEO of cyber defense consultancy Delta Risk. Prior to entering the private sector, Rattray had a 23-year US Air Force career, serving as director for cybersecurity in the White House and commander of the Operations Group of the Air Force Information Warfare Center.
Cummings previously was chief security officer at JP Morgan Chase, directing the physical and cybersecurity of the global banking giant. Cummings served 24 years in the US Air Force, including roles as director of Homeland Defense on the National Security Council in the White House, and commander of the Air Force’s Cyber Security Operations Center.
“Together, Oliver Wyman and Next Peak can deliver game-changing cyber defense tactics, techniques, and procedures, and can stress test cyber resiliency for clients based upon real experience and proven capabilities,” said Rattray and Cummings. “Securing networks is no longer enough; you must defend with confidence and ensure your ability to recover when that bad day happens.”
Paul Mee, partner and cyber platform lead at Oliver Wyman, added, “Having access to a large network of experienced cyber defenders under the leadership of two cyber veterans will be extremely valuable to Oliver Wyman’s clients.”
