Stoneridge Partners, a Louisville, KY–based healthcare M&A advisory firm, has launched Stoneridge Strategic Consulting Group, a new resource for healthcare business planning. The firm has brought in healthcare sector consultant Tom Lillis to lead the new group.

Founded in 2001, Stoneridge Partners specializes in the brokerage of mid-market home care, hospices, and behavioural health agencies. On the sell side, the firm provides services in valuation, business packaging, negotiation, and transaction structuring; and on the buy side, evaluation of opportunities, target recommendation, and negotiation, among other offerings.

Aside from its Louisville headquarters, the M&A specialist firm has an additional location in Dallas.

The company has announced that it will be widening its consulting offering with a new healthcare strategy arm. Stoneridge Strategic Consulting Group will support healthcare industry clients with strategy planning, from new market analysis to revenue enhancement advisory and electronic health record systems assessment. Industry expert Tom Lillis will lead the new group, bringing 25 years of consulting experience.

"This a natural progression for Stoneridge," said Stoneridge Partners President and CEO Rich Tinsley. "After closing thousands of successful transactions, we have the expertise and contacts to help healthcare businesses take the next step. And Tom has spent his entire career helping businesses get better at what they do. It's a perfect marriage."

Lillis joins Stoneridge from healthcare consultancy McBee Associates, where he was a senior vice president. In the role, he was responsible for all sales and marketing efforts, including rebranding, sales reorganization, strategic accounts, and social media strategy.

Prior to that, Lillis was an SVP at healthcare consultancy Health Systems Solutions, where he oversaw sales strategy development and the creation of a new strategic consulting practice. Earlier in his career, he was a director at The Hackett Group, developing sales methodologies for the consultancy’s CFO practice, and a senior manager at KPMG, where his work included the development of a national document management practice.

"When you're a healthcare executive, so much of your time is consumed with running day-to-day operations. You rarely get the time to step back and take a look at the overall picture. The non-acute environment today is increasingly challenging, with regulatory and reimbursement changes, staffing and technology limits, and growing patient populations,” said Lillis.

“There are also opportunities emerging that didn't exist five or ten years ago. Stoneridge Strategic Consulting can help clients navigate through these issues and options, to jointly chart a path to higher patient satisfaction and organization success."
