Comport Consulting names Michael Vencel president
IT consultancy Comport Consulting has announced that Michael Vencel will be the firm’s next president. Vencel has served as executive vice president of Comport for the past seven years, and has worked closely with the firm’s founder, former president, and CEO, Jack Margossi, for almost 20 years.
Although he will step back from the president role, Margossian will remain Comport’s CEO. In that role, he will lead overall strategy, and manage key customer and partner relationships.
"It's been a terrific experience creating and leading Comport for 37 years. I am so proud of what our team has accomplished," Margossian said. "Much of that can be credited to the strategy and direction Mike and I facilitated within the organization. I am honored to pass day-to-day operations to Mike, knowing he will continue to build upon the foundation we created."
As president, Vencel will head the company’s operations as well as drive its strategic growth. Before his promotion, he managed Comport’s data center business and geographical expansions, and played a key role in the firm’s managed IT services arm, Comport Secure.
"I know that I speak for everyone at Comport in thanking Jack for his tireless drive and commitment to the company over the years," Vencel siad. "We have a talented team and I'm excited about our future as we continue to innovate, transform, and unlock new opportunities that help our customers excel."
Before joining Comport, Vencel worked as an account manager at Infinite Technology Group. He also served as a senior analyst at Accenture for four years. He is the current president of the board of trustees of Steampark, Inc, an educational organization which aims to support children in at-risk communities via a curriculum based on science, technology, engineering, math, and art. Vencel holds a bachelor’s degree from Bentley University.
Comport, which is headquartered in Ramsey, New Jersey, was founded in 1982.
