Crime fighter among four new Managing Directors appointed by Alvarez & Marsal
A former Assistant US Attorney who prosecuted drug traffickers, terrorists, and corrupt public officials has joined Alvarez & Marsal as a Managing Director. The appointment comes as the global professional services firm unveiled three new MDs in its Healthcare advisory practice.
Robert J. Milan entered the private sector as an advisor with unusual professional experience. A former Assistant US Attorney for Illinois’ Northern District, he spent years combating organized and white collar crime in Chicago, overseeing hundreds of state attorneys and investigators. His prosecutions led to the conviction of dozens of murderers, corrupt officials, and money launderers.
Milan entered the private sector in a consulting capacity, advising corporate risk executives on forensic accounting, investigations, and litigation. He arrives at Alvarez & Marsal’s Disputes and Investigations practice from Kroll’s Chicago office, where he was Managing Director after a spell with Navigant Consulting. At Alvarez & Marsal he will lead global anti-corruption and corporate fraud investigations.

In Washington D.C. and Boston, meanwhile, the consulting firm has appointed three new Managing Directors to its Healthcare Industry Group. Kristina Park and Doris Stein head to the capital, while Ken Barrette, a former Sapient consultant with operational leadership experience, will be based in Massachusetts.
Park is a healthcare consultant of 25 years’ standing who specializes in business transformation and analytics. She has worked with McKinsey, EY, and Accenture, and was a Director at Navigant. Doris Stein also worked at EY and Navigant, and has extensive experience advising on Medicaid and Medicare programmes which complement her strategic market planning expertise.
