Mercer names new Denver-based leaders
Health, wealth, and career consultancy Mercer has announced that Meme Stokes Callnin will serve as the firm’s Mountain States office leader. For the role, she will be based in Denver. The firm also announced the appointment of Chris Mast as its Denver office business leader for heath. Both Mast and Callnin are former Mercer employees.
For Mercer, the “Mountain States” include Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming. Callnin and Mast will respectively report to Macaire Pace, Mercer’s West market CEO, and Kelly Esselman, the firm’s Mountain States health leader.

Prior to rejoining Mercer, Callnin worked for nearly eight years at Aon, where she served as national sales vice president of Aon’s retiree health solutions practice. She also worked as the resident sales director of health and benefits for the Denver market, as well as local market leader and partner for the Denver area.
Before that, she worked as a partner in client development at Mercer – a position she held for nearly nine years. Callnin also has served in various other consulting roles and positions throughout her career. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Winthrop University.
Mast spent the last year as executive director of actuarial and analytics at Consortium Health Plans. Before that, however, he worked at Mercer for almost 15 years, first as an actuary and employee benefits consultant, then as the firm’s West market leader in its actuarial and financial group. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder.
