Altair global, a US-based consultancy specializing in mobility consulting services, announced the appointment of a new global director. Russ Haynie, who has more than 25 years’ experience in human resources and relocation consulting, will become Altair’s new Director of Global Consulting.

Leading mobility consultancy Altair Global helps clients navigate major moves of offices and staff, and provides strategic advisory on the choice of business location. Headquartered in Dallas, Texas, the nature of Altair’s services demands a global presence and the consulting firm has offices spanning the globe – from California to London, Paris, Singapore and Shanghai.

With an eye on expansion, Altair has added a new senior consultant to the leadership team. Russ Haynie is now Director of Global Consulting and will oversee international policy from the firm’s Atlanta office. With more than a quarter century of industry experience, Haynie has worked primarily in HR and relocation services. His analysis of global mobility trends has been published in the Wall Street Journal and in other prestigious publications.

Haynie will report to vice president of global consulting Mary Beth Nitz, who described him as a tremendous asset to the Altair team. “Russ has worked with hundreds of companies to design, build, and enhance best-in-class global mobility programs,” she said.

He will be expected to take a hands-on approach to the work. Altair’s Global Consulting Services practice works closely with more than 100 clients each year – many of whom are Fortune and Global 500 companies with serious personnel challenges that demand direct and effective solutions.

Solutions provided by Altair range from domestic relocation advice in the US, to managing long term or rotational international expatriate assignments, and even business travel solutions.

In today’s hyper-globalized environment, mobility consulting is big business. ALM Intelligence recently named Deloitte a global leader in advising on employee mobility and its integration with strategy and talent management. Other consulting firms getting in on the mobility consulting scene include GMS Mobility and KPMG – which has an entire practice dedicated to streamlining international assignments.
