Global advisory firm Stout has announced the launch of a technical accounting consulting practice. Steve Hills will join the firm to act as both managing director and leader of the new practice.

"Technical accounting is foundational to all forms of financial reporting valuation, and I believe that providing this joint expertise to our clients will be a differentiator for Stout," Hills said. "Stout's clients have consistently asked for this service and I am excited to partner with our industry-leading valuation professionals in delivering it."

Stout’s technical accounting consulting practice will assist businesses and other clients in matters such as the accounting implications of complex contracts; memoranda and policies; journal entries; filing requirements; financial statement disclosures; and audit support. It will also offer services involving business combinations, complex securities, consolidators, revenue recognition, and lease accounting.
