BCG partners with Givewith to generate social impact
Management consultancy Boston Consulting Group (BCG) has partnered with Givewith, a social impact technology company which integrates funding for nonprofits into business-to-business (B2B) transactions.
In the collaboration, BCG will deliver the human capital and expertise to help Givewith scale and customize its value proposition for a range of sectors. BCG will deploy experts from its Growth Tech practice, SaaS team, social impact practice, and Digital Ventures team, among others.
Founded in 2016 and based in New York, Givewith provides a proprietary platform that embeds social impact into B2B transactions, tapping into sales and sourcing to create new funding for nonprofits and social enterprises. The company has additional locations in Los Angeles and London.
“Their platform plugs into existing B2B transaction processes across any industry and creates value for both the buyer and the seller,” said Roger Premo, a BCG managing director and partner who is managing the collaboration on the BCG side.
In November 2019 Givewith announced its integration into SAP Ariba, the world’s largest digital B2B marketplace. Through the Givewith extension in the SAP Ariba app marketplace, buyers can select a pre-vetted nonprofit program and include it in the request-for-proposal (RFP) process. Suppliers can then choose to support one of the nonprofits in the RFP response. Givewith then facilitates the funding and reports the precise impacts, including reporting data to send to key stakeholders.
"Every company across every industry is facing pressure from consumers, employees, investors, and other stakeholders to address society's most pressing challenges," said Sushmita Banerjee, a managing director and partner in BCG's technology, media & telecommunications practice. "Givewith's value proposition is unique and powerful. By making social good a differentiator that can directly drive better business results, it has the potential to be a market maker here."
The formal collaboration with BCG will focus on expanding Givewith’s solutions into industries where B2B transactions occur outside digital platforms. The partnership will work on custom solutions for industries with concentrated, large transactions – such as real estate, finance, transportation, healthcare, and business-to-government.
"Our mission is to embed our social impact solutions across every major industry sector to catalyze positive social change," said Paul Polizzotto, founder and CEO of Givewith. "Our partnership with BCG enables us to expand our impact and, ultimately, help solve the world's most pressing challenges on the broadest scale while also equipping companies with the tools needed to drive business success."
