Oliver Wyman names Nick Studer head of management consulting business
Global consulting firm Oliver Wyman has appointed company veteran Nick Studer as managing partner of the management consulting business.
Studer will fully take on the newly created role in January 2021. Oliver Wyman CEO Scott McDonald said that Studer’s appointment will help the firm more rapidly implement its strategy and achieve its ambitions.
“This will also bring Oliver Wyman in line with the other Oliver Wyman Group businesses – NERA, Lippincott, and OW Actuarial – which each have a dedicated leader of the business,” McDonald added. NERA focuses on economic consulting, Lippincott offers branding and creative services, and OW Actuarial covers actuarial services.
McDonald will remain in his role of CEO for the entire Oliver Wyman Group.
Studer, 46, joined Oliver Wyman’s London office in 1997, and became a partner in the New York office in 2003. Currently based in London, Studer is the managing partner of the global consumer and industrial practices, which include retail and consumer goods; telecom, media, and technology (TMT); automotive; and manufacturing industries.
Before that, Studer was managing partner of the global financial services practice and head of the European finance and risk practice.
Studer has supported numerous government leaders and policy makers on the issue of financial services industry competitiveness and stability. He previously advised the World Economic Forum on the role of financial services in society, and advised Her Majesty’s Treasury on a 10-year vision for the global competitiveness of the UK financial services industry.
He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in manufacturing engineering from the University of Cambridge.
Based in New York, Oliver Wyman has approximately 5,000 global professionals and is one of the world’s ten largest management consulting firms. The company has 21 US offices and 60+ global locations, and booked 6% growth in 2019 to reach $2.1 billion in revenues.
