RSM sells off two offices in North Carolina to PBMares
PBMares LLP, a Mid-Atlantic region accounting and consulting firm, has acquired the New Bern and Morehead City, North Carolina offices of RSM US.
Founded in 1963 and headquartered in Newport News, Virginia, PBMares delivers audit, tax, and consulting services to corporations, private businesses, non-profits, and individuals. The company has more than 250 employees across 10 offices in Virginia and Maryland.
PBMares is also a part of the RSM US Alliance, an affiliation of independent accountancies, which enables it to tap the resources of the RSM network when a client needs specialized expertise or support outside its core geographic area.
The company will now expand its footprint to North Carolina, with the acquisition of RSM’s New Bern and Morehead City offices. The deal will add 46 people to PBMares, including lead office partner Jeff Williams and partners Robbie Bittner, Tracey Dail, and Charles Dean Smith.

Jeff Williams and the rest of his team will continue to operate out of the existing offices at 3621 John Platt Drive in Morehead City and 3120 Wellons Blvd. in New Bern.

The deal is expected to close on December 1, 2020.
RSM US LLP is the fifth largest accounting and consulting firm in the United States, with $2.44 billion in revenue in 2019. The company has approximately 10,000 employees across more than 80 offices in the country. RSM International has more than 43,000 professionals in 120 countries.
