Grant Thornton adds Jamie Sybert as head of government contractor practice
Mid-market accounting and consulting firm Grant Thornton US has welcomed Jamie Sybert as leader of the firm’s government contracting advisory practice. She is based in Denver.
In the role, Sybert will develop Grant Thornton’s government contracting offerings, focusing on government accounting and regulatory consulting. She brings more than 20 years of advisory experience in government accounting, finance, contracts, and regulatory compliance.
Sybert joins Grant Thornton from Baker Tilly Virchow Krause, where he was a director in government contractor advisory services, and spent a total six years. Before that, she was a VP in the government accounting and compliance practice of engineering and design consultancy CH2M/Jacobs, where she spent seven years.
Earlier in her career, Sybert spent eight years at EY, where she was a manager in the government contract services department. She holds an MBA from Duquesne University and a BS in accounting from University of Pittsburgh.
“Jamie’s broad experience and deep understanding of the government contracting marketplace will deliver tremendous value and innovation to our many clients doing business with the government,” said Lisa Walkush, national managing principal of industry at Grant Thornton. “We’re excited to have her join us to lead our efforts in serving the unique and complex needs of this sector, which supports the important work of government.”
Grant Thornton earlier this year appointed Dennis Morrone as the new national managing partner of its not-for-profit and higher education practices.
The firm also named Lisa Walkush as leader of industry, and appointed seven new leaders within the company’s 15 industry groups.
“I am thrilled to join Grant Thornton and look forward to building the firm’s presence in the government contracting space,” Sybert said.
