TBM Consulting names John Ferguson CEO
TBM Consulting, a Morrisville, NC-based operational advisory firm, has appointed John Ferguson as CEO, effective January 19, 2021.
Ferguson succeeds Bill Remy, who will retire from the CEO position but remain on the company’s board of directors.
Ferguson joined TBM in 2019 as VP of international operations, overseeing the US firm’s consulting business in Europe, Latin America, and Asia-Pacific.
He has 30 years of consulting experience with a focus on operational improvement and supply chain projects. Ferguson has led and delivered operational improvement projects globally to a range of industry clients, including financial services, retail, healthcare, consumer products, industrial, and chemicals.
Ferguson previously spent two years as a partner in EY’s transaction advisory services practice, where he worked on operational improvement and supply chain projects for publicly held and private-equity-owned clients.
Before that he was a principal in the strategy and operations practice of The Hackett Group and a principal in the supply chain practice of Archstone Consulting, which was acquired by Hackett in 2010. Ferguson also spent seven years at Accenture, where he was a senior manager in the supply chain strategy practice, and three years at predecessor firm Arthur Andersen Business Consulting, where he was senior staff consultant.
Ferguson has an MBA from the University of Chicago and a BS in industrial management and economics from Purdue University.
"John has extensive success working with clients, day-to-day leadership, and experience growing a consulting business,” said outgoing CEO Bill Remy. “Building on his work with our international operations, I am confident his stewardship will continue to bolster our clients' competitiveness and take TBM to the next level.”
Eduardo Spina, head of TBM’s Latin America business, will take over the VP of international operations role vacated by Ferguson.
