Andy McKenna has rejoined the Boston office of PA Consulting, a global transformation and innovation consulting firm. He returns to his previous role as a partner in the energy and utilities practice.
At PA, McKenna will once again help energy and utilities clients create digital strategies that enable better customer experiences and improve operational performance.

He spent the last year at Oliver Wyman, where he was a partner in the energy and utilities practice. Before that, he spent three-and-a-half years at PA.
Prior to joining PA, McKenna was a managing director at PwC’s Strategy&, where he delivered transformational change and performance improvement consulting to power and utilities clients. He was also previously a principal at PRTM Management Consultants and a partner at ServiceEdge Consulting.
Earlier in his career, McKenna was a project team leader and engineer at Texas Instruments, where he focused on automotive control products. He holds an MBA from the University of Michigan and a BS in mechanical engineering from Dartmouth College.
Ross Smith, US utility practice lead at PA Consulting, said, “We are thrilled to have Andy back on the team. His deep Utility sector expertise and his leading insights on Customer Digital Experience and the Clean Energy Transition will be invaluable to our clients and our broader team.”
PA’s energy and utilities practice advises utility businesses and energy companies, power producers and investors, and policymakers and regulators across clean energy, electric and power, natural gas, nuclear, and water. The practice’s offerings include customer experience, digital utility, grid modernization, market entry, rates and regulation, and litigation support, among other areas.
"I’m delighted to be returning to PA Consulting to be part of a fabulous team delivering innovative solutions to the energy and utilities sector and beyond,” McKenna said. “PA is really setting itself apart with its focus on ‘bringing innovation to life to build a positive human future’ and their track record of real, tangible results.”
